Pianos, safes, and the pieces other movers won’t touch

Some items need real equipment and a crew that has done it before. We have handled these since 1985 with our own trained crew — never day labor pulled in for the morning.

Heavy items we move

  • Upright, baby grand, and grand pianos
  • Gun safes and slate pool tables
  • Large gym equipment and heavy antiques that defeat a two-man lift

How we move a piano

It starts with the details: the type of piano, the stairs and doorways at both ends, the turns, and the path to the truck. A spinet out of a Somerville ranch is a different job from a baby grand down a narrow Bound Brook walk-up, and we plan each one separately.

The crew pad-wraps the instrument, secures it to a piano board, and uses the right ramps and straps so the weight is controlled rather than fought. Grands get the legs and pedals removed and crated where the move calls for it.

Safes, tables, and the route

A 700-pound safe or a slate pool table gets the same care, where balance and a controlled pace beat brute muscle. We pad the banister, door jambs, and any tight corner, because most damage on a heavy move happens to the house, not the item.

One flat quote

The rate is flat and quoted up front once we know the item and access — no surprise heavy-item fee at the curb. On its own trip or inside a full move, every piece is covered by our NJ Public Mover license and $1M in cargo coverage. Get a free piano-move quote.

Service FAQ

Can you move a grand piano down a narrow staircase?
Yes. We plan each piano move around the stairs, doorways, and path, and grands get the legs and pedals removed and the body secured to a piano board.
Do you move gun safes and pool tables too?
We do. Heavy safes, slate pool tables, and large gym equipment all fall under this service, and we bring the dollies, ramps, and crew to handle them safely.
Is the piano move a separate trip or part of my move?
Either. We can move a piano on its own or fold it into a full house move on the same flat quote.
Do you use your own crew for heavy items?
Yes. Our own trained movers handle every heavy and specialty item; we do not hand it off to day labor.
Will the piano be covered if something happens?
Yes. We carry $1M cargo coverage, and heavy items are pad-wrapped and secured properly to avoid damage in the first place.

Licensed & Insured

Fully licensed in NJ with US DOT authority and $1M cargo coverage on every move, so a local job and an interstate haul both ride on proper paperwork.

Floor & Wall Protection

Floor runners, door-jamb pads, and shrink wrap go down before a single box moves, so your old place and your new one come through without a scuff.

Full-Time W-2 Crews

The hands on your move are our own employees — trained, background-checked, and on payroll. We never hand your belongings to day labor or a subcontractor.
